If you've read my post in the 1st gen performance/mod section, you'll know my Intrepid's torque converter bit the dust. Power Demon transmissions has the best rebuilt tranny's but they'll run over $2000 installed (includes TC).

I might be able to find one from a salvage yard but I hate to drop in a used one to find out it's trash too. I'd be better off with a lower mileage 2nd gen if it will mate with my 1st gen 3.5. Will this work and if so will it be an easy bolt in?

Thanks,
Dave

They all share the same transmisson. The only thing I'm not sure about is the tranny controllers.

When you sall "all" do you mean 2.7, 3.3, 3.2?
If I can find a 2.7 that uses the same tranny, I may take the gears too!

2nd gen and 1st gen trans are cross compatable.

2nd gen trans are accually better. Especially the newer ones.

TCMs are different of course. But you wont need to change that.
