Hey Trep folks, was out getting estimates to remove the last resonator and install pipe with a nice tip on my 03 SXT. I talked with a guy at a regular muffler shop. He told me that the engine might throw trouble codes if I remove it. Anyone hear of this? Just curious. I am of the belief, that just removing the last resonator will not release enough back pressure to be of concern. That, and I have have not read on this page anything about exhaust related codes. I appreciate your insights. AK

I cant see how that would cause a problem, your not removing cats or o2 sensors, and like you said, it would still have good backpressure. I would do it.

^^^^What they said.

I have competely changed out my exhaust system with true duals from the cats back. No codes and I still pass emissions testing.

As long as you don't remove the cats you should be fine.
