does anyone no how strict cops are about window tinting being to dark on the front windows. I want to get them tinted but my dad won't let me(even thought I paid for the car)I am only 16 so I have to change his mind so it looks good.

Where in Iowa do you live? I dont think the town cops really care (especially in larger cities) but i'll tell you right now, the State Patrol WILL pull you over for it... I haven't got pulled over in town for it, but most people i know that have have just been told to take it off. Otherwise my ticket was $35.50. I dont think its too bad though, only getting one ticket so far because i've had it tinted for 6 months or so. I have 45% on the fronts and 35% on back, which is about the lightest you can get. You might be able to get 50% but 45 was the lightest the guy had that did mine.

A friend had a car with "limo tint" all around and that car was down right dangerous to drive a night with the windows up.
Listen to Dad and DON'T go too dark up front! It can be a very unforgiving situation to pull out in front of a big truck.

Actually in Iowa, the handbooks say window tint on ANY window is illegal. But like JGarrett said the only people that will hassel you is state dicks and the ocasional county bounty. If you dont want it really dark, go with what JGarrett has. His looks pretty nice in person. Limo tint is tacky in my opinion.

Hey bro i have limo tint for about 4 years now and i got pulled over once for it.
And the only thing the cop did is told me to go take it to the place where you got it and tell them to change it to 37%.

But he didnt give me a ticket and still to this day i have it. just get 27% all the way it wont look illegal and they wont pull you over.

But it looks too good so f'em. Besides my father is retired NYPD.... if I can't get out of a tinting ticket I really have issues... LOL Actually now ill probably get one now that I said that.

In NYC I don't have to worry about nighttime driving cause its pretty well lit here, plenty of street lights... however if im in a real rural area with no lights, it can get a little dangerous. Sometimes if I need to pull out, ill do so with all my windows open... even in 25degree weather.

Oh but I do have to admit it did take a week or two of driving to get used to the darker windows.... especially fighting with the damm cabbies in Manhattan.

Now that I am used to it, its really no big deal.

Each state has it's own laws when it comes to window tinting. Last time I knew, in Michigan you can have your back windows tinted (I'm not sure how dark though), but on the fronts, only the top couple of inches can be tinted.

I am from Sheldon Iowa in the NW corner. I would only get them 50% just so there isn't such a contrast from front to back because I am getting 35% in back.

Intrepidatious I don't know if it's just the way your car is positioned, but it looks like your trunk is about 1 foot longer than Jgarrett's. I hope it's just the picture. My fiancee has said numerous times that my Intrepid looks longer than others she sees and I never believed her. Now comparing the pictures it could be. Anyone know if one year was longer than the next. Please tell me they aren't. If it is I'll have to kiss some ass.

I got 35% the Legal amount in indiana its right at the line too i even got pulled over and i got to shove the thing that says IM LEGAL down the cops througt practicly.
35-37% dosint look that bad and you can see out of it still
see my car is the older step brother of your 2 cars
just cause its white and an ES thats not latest modle
