its that time of the year. I would like new tires for the coming winter driving season. I bought a new set of alloy wheels this summer and mounted them with my old tires. should i get all-season tires for them or get a set of winter tires for my stock rims I still have? I am leaning towards getting winter tires and just putting them on the stock rims. I have had new A/S tires on previous cars that were lousy in snow. I think almost any winter tire would be better than any A/S tire. why buy an all-around tire when i should get a winter tire? the roads are well plowed in minnesota but are almost always icy. its hard to cover every square inch of road with sand and salt but the highway dept. tries real hard.
