Greetings,
A strange noise/vibration comes out of the center speaker at certain sound frequencies. Looks like replacing is in order.
Anybody ever replace that speaker? Looks like the defrost cover just pops up with a screwdriver to allow access to it.
Any advice?

sigh..the infamous dash speaker again

I didnt repair mine, instead I just cut the power wires for that speaker right at the factory amp, what little bit of sound (and there really wasnt much) that I lost is much better than that buzzing annoyance

as far as I know it is only on models with the Infinity system

pull off the a-pillars, then pop up that part of the dash, it'll take ya 2 min tops to get to it

You are correct - center dash speaker comes with Infinity I and Infinity II systems only.

Keep in mind if you think you want to add that speaker that the factory amp that comes with the Infinity systems has a separate output driver for that speaker, so you'll have to figure out how to drive it (possibly the one wire from the rigth front channel and one wire from the left front channel - one neg. the other pos. - just a guess - but that should work).

ive got the 95 model and i have a center speaker.. didnt even know it til i took the panel off when i was paintin it.. but i dont think they are hooked up... cant tell.. im gonna have to check that out.. but that whole assembly pops right off no prob...
