Suddenly, after having cured my transmission safe mode problems with a new speed sensor (thanks to this forum!!!), I'm suddenly having a brand new problem with my 1999 2.7 Intrepid. It started after a one-hour highway run when I tried to stop at the end of the exit ramp. The car stalled for the first time ever. I was eventually able to get it restarted after much cranking, but it did the same thing five other times the same day. All five times, the car eventually restarted. Two of these incidents happened at about 60-70 MPH on the highway... very scary. One happened after stopping from a mere 25 MPH at a convenience store. The only common element was application of the brakes... medium to high pressure.
Weather was warm and so was the car. AC was both on and off at different times... mostly on. AC on seems to make it worse. It threw no codes and has no other obvious ill effects. Battery is old and I know that may be a contributing factor. Car has 70K miles on it. Regular gasoline is from the same gas station as usual, but could be a little old as I have been traveling a lot for work.
I have searched the archives with no results. Can anyone identify what could suddenly be causing this?
Thanks!!!
