I'm interested in the answer too! I get the same damn annoying noise from underneath my hood.

The buzzing sound you hear for about a second when shifting is the lock-up torque converter in the tranny. It is normal operation. You will also hear it when coming to a stop as it shifts back to 1st gear.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not to knowledgable on tranny's but that sounds logical.

From what I've heard, the automatic transmission is the single most complicated device in a vehicle... which explains why a lot of people know very little about them.

Which in turn explains why alot of the tranny's in the 2.7's screw up alot.
