Yesterday while we were installing an EVIC I ran across an additional plug on the harness which as far as I can tell serves no purpose and has nowhere to plug into

The car was a 2000 ES and the harness was the correct part #04760108AH

On the end where the main white plug was (fuse box plug-in) the harness had an additional smaller plug with two wires in it, black with a yellow stripe and black with a pinkish stripe

I looked on my 2000's OEM harness and couldn't find this plug anywhere

All the functions on the EVIC seem to work fine so I am just wondering if anyone had any idea what this plug is for

Does the connector look like it could make the run to the courtesy light by the coat hook/rear drivers side?
Nope, it only had about an 10" lead from where it Y'd off from the main harness down near the BCM connector. We had already routed the rear courtesy lead as well. (It was my EVIC he was installing  )

That wire is the wire for the backup lamp feed for the day/night mirror. It turns off the auto-dimming feature when you put the car in reverse. It should run to the backup lamp switch. (I looked it up)

ok, now the big question. Why did my 2000 which came with an OEM autodim mirror (you should know Anthony) not have this wiring?

a harness for one wire? the reverse inhibitor is only one wire, is that the only wire in the harness you found LvngInExile?
