My 2000 Chrysler LHS with 160k miles on it has this consistent problem with ti and I believe it to be fuel related, specifically the fuel pump. If the car is cold (not the air temp, because this will happen in 20 degree cold or 100 degree heat) it will not start. Ill have to either pump the gas pedal or just hold it down while cranking to get it to start. which is usually followed by a poof of blue oil smoke out the back. After that initial start, I can park somewhere for 20-30 min and it will start right up. any thoughts?
EDIT: could be related, not sure. As I was cranking it and pumping the gas i head BOOOOM. i shut everything off and saw smoke emitting from the engine bay. Popped the hood and opened up to see everything relatively in its place, no liquids anywhere. the intake tube between the air box and throttle body had blow the top off of a little box around the curve there exposing a tube that had been separated. I dont know if this is a noise baffle or what, but the amount of pressure that was needed to do that is insane. Good ol duct tape fixed it for now.
