GearFest IV Multi-Club Meet, date set!

Gearfest 4 Multi-Club Meet/Picnic

Date: Saturday, October 19, 2002

Time: 8:30 am until 5:30 pm~

Place: Possum Hollow Woods (Grove # 1)
Westchester, IL.
on the north side of 31st St., just west of US45/Mannheim/LaGrange Rd.

Amenities: Our grove is the first one in off the street. We will have use of the pavillion. The pavillion is only 30 feet from the roadway, with no hill to climb. There is a water pump for us and an outhouse as well. We have PLENTY of shade here. There is a view between the trees of 31st St. There is an open field behind the pavillion. There are atleast 100 parking spots in front of the pavillion, but get there early! More parking around the bend too.

Directions: take I-294 to Ogden Ave, then go east on Ogden until you come to Wolf Rd. Turn left (north) on Wolf Rd. Go up to the next light which is 31st St. and turn right. Go down about 1 mile and the grove will be on the left side of the street.
OR
take Route 83 to 31st St. and go east down 31st St. about 5 miles. Grove is just before you get to LaGrange Rd.

Food: everyone should try and bring a food item, drinks, or paper goods. As always, we will be sharing with each other. I'll bring a small grill. Additional grills encouraged.

Registration: $5.00 registration (optional) to be eligible to win prizes/trophies.

Prizes: trophies (number to be determined), possibly some giveaways too.

Sports: feel free to bring a football, frisbee or volleyball & net. Plenty of room in the field behind the pavillion.

after hours party: 10 mile cruise up to Strats Drive-In at dusk for more food and drink. Strats is in Villa Park on North Ave. There is a chance of more prizes there.

let me revise that, if you are from a state which, in it's entirety is east of Indiana state, and you bring your Intrepid, then I donate, don't try to cheat, I decide if I donate or not anyways. members who are just members but drive something else, too bad, you dont qualify, dont worry, you can still come

Ummmmm you shouldn't bet stuff like that......at least 2 from Ontario coming and one from Tenessee and possibly more from other places, *looks over at DJPill* :D

Hmmmmmmm, gotta get my undercar lighting installed before the meet :D

Heh, count me in as a tentative only, I have to see about days off and cashola flow for now. Running low :) We'll see what my next paycheck brings in :)

It would be sweet if I could caravan with Avenger and anyone else from Ontario. (that way I won't get lost :p )

I am going to talk to my friend tonite when I go out clubbin and ask him if he wants to tag along with me on this road trip. If he is down with a little mini-vacation and a little Big Pimpin in Chicago... maybe you guys might actually see me at this thing.

No guarantees though. I still can't believe im even considering this. ;)

I got into an accident yestarday, my baby is scratched up in the front and the bumper is cracked!!! Good thing the impact didn't damage the intercooler! But dont worry I'll still be there, with a F-ed up front bumper!!:eek: :mad: :confused: :cry: :angry: :cry: :cry: :mad: :mad: :mg: :crazy: :tongue: :mad:

BTW I'm adding busted bumper to my mods list!

Can't get a replacement or insurance to replace it within what, 2-3 weeks?

Hey dj, to give you an idea of how far I would have to drive...

Let's say I was going to meet Avenger to drive down to Chicago.. 4-5 hours right there, on top of 8 hours to Chicago :)

Well why didn't you say so! :D
Ottawa's pretty happening too.
Basically Ottawa is a touristy type of place, good bit of clubs etc.
Montreal is party town, if you can't find an awesome night life there, your locking yourself in your bomb shelter without communication too much. As for Toronto, well it speaks for itself :0 good all around.

All in all though, I know and love Ottawa the most :)

17 treppers, fookin sweet man, I went to go see where the meet is taking place yesterday, and it's nice, I don't know how Jim finds these places, but they're nice. The roads on the way there are 40 or 45 zones, and that's miles per hour for you out of country peopleZ, and there are gas staions nearby which I am sure have instant car washes. There are a lot of leaves laying on the ground, I will be getting there REALLY early so that I can put on some final touches to the pie wagon as well as to remove some of the leaves, if someone could lend me a gas powered leaf blower, or bring it with them, that would be great. I am willing to clean almost everyone's leaves, but only with a blower.

I literally live 5 minutes from the location. It is nice. Don't have a leaf blower... There is a gas station or two within a few blocks and a grocery store about a half mile away.

Don't speed around there because the cops are bad especially along LaGrange Road/31st St that is kind of a known speed trap.

OK, EDF, you can ride with me if you come, I'm already riding with Funkrider from Hamilton and Warlord (possibly), and DJ.....if you come you can ride with us too if you decide to take a (shortcut?) through Canada coming across at Niagara Falls and back into the US at Windsor/Detroit. :D

I'm gonna add DJ to the list cause I want to see his fuggin turn signal mirrors *drool*, wonder when he's gonna install them? If you're coming to the meet that gives you incentive to install those bad boys, that's what's gonna get me off my ass to install my undercar :p YES!

Oh yeah, I'm gonna take the tentative off beside my name, I'll be there FO SURE! :D

Yeah but you have to buy a drink as soon as you sit down, and drinks every so often. Nothing is ever free. :(

Rob, how many times do I have to tell you. There is only a 1% chance that I will be able to meet up with you guys.

But there is a 99% chance that I will be going to the meet.

Try to figure that one out. :D
