I had a friend in my car yesterday and he was smoking. I figured, no big deal, people have smoked in my car with no incidents. This time a cherry of fire flies in my back seat and starts smoking while im on the highway doing 90mph. After getting the cherry out my back seat, it is left with a hole a half inch in diameter. I have cloth seating and have no idea how to fix this hole and dont know who or what company to call.

Can anyone provide any help of insight? It would be greatly appreciated.

What do you have for an interior? I've still got my cloth interior sitting in the shop. I'd be willing to sell ya the material to recover the rear seat.

So the "friend" is footing the bill, right?

I don't let people smoke in my car. Besides the risk of holes in the upholstery, it stinks up the car and clothing. When used car shopping, a cigarette burn in the uphosltery can be a show-stopper for me unless it is an absolute exceptional deal otherwise.

 I hate that. My father smokes in my car all the time. Its not like you can say put that damn cigar out. This is how I found out that any fabric/leather repair shop will fix it pretty cheap. I had three burn marks fixed for $80 (one in the front and two in the rear).

I let people smoke in my car...... I just tell them to stick their head out the window, and I roll up the window so that their head is wedged outsite. That way they can smoke, and it doesn't bother me.

It sometimes hurts their neck though.

BTW I have the grey cloth material (2000 2.7L Base Mod.) And, NO, my friend is not footing the bill. But believe me, I just cant want for someone to light up in my car so that I can yell them out their freaking seats.

I've smoked, ohh, maybe 4-5 times in the intrepid, and had that bottle of spray air cleanser when necessary. I don't smoke in the Pi and it has not been smoked in for the past, hmm, maybe 5 years or so, and I say maybe because we have only had it for the past 5 years. Basically, as long as we have had it, I have never seen or heard of anyone smoking in there.

My girl tries to smoke in my car all the time and i have to smack her around(no pun intended) a little ...no really i don't hit her but i tell her that if i catch her smoking in it I will never let her drive her again ...To me its very disrespectful to smoke in someone's car especially if the person is a non smoker

my mother in law has put 5 burn holes in my intrepid, and now I tell her all the time she cannot smoke in my wifes new van. Yesterday she needed to borrow it, and I tell her, ok, as long as you dont smoke in it. After she went out side I snuck to the window, and she backed outa the driveway, cracked the window and I saw her pull the ciggarettes out of her purse and start to light up while she pulled away.
MAN THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!

A car that smells of cig smoke is worthless to me. I wouldn't buy a car that didnt smell good. Also cars sometimes get a musty smell from moisture. Very difficult to get rid of that.

Was he using the window as an ashtray ? I hate when people flick their cigarette out the window...and insist they use the proper ashtray.
PS....is your freind aware of the damage?...he should cover it without question

Yeah, i don't smoke cigs in the ride.... but maybe a blunt...
