I was reading the continued discussion on an ealier post that is now closed. Some of our forum members said they could and have beat a newer Mustang GT...Bull! I do not believe the V6 is labeled a GT and that would be the only model that may let you get ahead. I am talking about a 95 Trep 3.5L. I have a 3.5L in great condition. It has high mileage but does not burn oil and the compression was close to the new specs. I will not even try to take on a Mustang GT unless it was a mid eighties version (195hp). I think the newer Treps with higher output can compete even the limited edition 3.5L magnums.

I've played with a couple of V-8 'Stangs and we can generally keep up through about 2nd gear. A lot has to be said about the driver too. We certainly wouldn't smoke any in the 1/4, but it's fun stoplight to stoplight on a deserted road. That and they might not think you'll really race them with the family car, so that gives us a little extra time.
