Sorry, I could not find where they installed the receiver unit or I would have taken a pic of it. I know its there somewhere since the detector IS working (HA HA). Hope these pics helped.
The receivers are installed front and back (if you got the rear receiver). Look behind your grill or bumber up front and you should see a little black box. I've installed several of these systems and they are pretty cool. Good luck determining the difference between the bands though, I never could. The only unique one to me was the laser tone. The K40 is an awsome unit. I always had plenty of warning and never even came close to getting a ticket with mine...

I actually have a K40 system for sale, the 3000SWL if anyone is interested in it. I spent $500 on it new (that was at dealer discount with no instal charges). I've been going to list it in the buy/sell forum but I've been too lazy. :p If anyone is interested make an offer, but please, be realistic. I'd like to get at least $300 for it. It's in perfect condition and the rear receiver is brand new (replaced after an accident with my old car) And if you're near Austin I'll even do the installation for you... ;)

Damm for hundreds less, you can do Intrepidatious's radar detector mod. ;)
Yeah, but the K40 is about 100 times the unit as far as quality and I'd be willing to bet at least 100 times more reliable. Though K40 is way over-priced...

Should have saved your $200 on the upgrade for the laser detector...they do work but 95% of the time if it goes off you are too late to do anything about it. It is rare that if a cop is shooting cars with a laser that you will detect him before he shoots your car.

I have a Valentine One detector and I always wondered how the laser warning sounded like because laser cops are rare in most places. Well while driving through Wisconsin I found out it sounds like a siren...which was fitting as I soon had a siren pulling me over.
This is very true. The laser detector is more of a "time to pull over" detector. Unfortunately, there are lots of cops here in Austin using the new laser guns. It's a major *****...
