on my way home Friday my trep was wavering on the what is normal 1/4 was showing 3/8's and then i was sitting atthe bank for 20 min in the drive through. then i started smelling what seemed like anti freez. but there was this really beat up neon in front of me and my car atthe time wwas wavering between 1/4 and 3/8s so i did not think ny thing of it so i said it must be him and went on well on the way home 2.5 miles or so it suddenly jumped up to 1/2 and i was like umm Yipes. then i figured i could make it down to a gas station to look at it then with in seconds of that thought the car went to the Dreaded " H " at the very top. i was thinking DAMN!!!! at this point then i honked to get my butt over to a shopping center on this corner. and with in a sec or so it was Smoking white with a nasty smell.
then came the long long wait for the " AAA " tow people. and then i called my pal to come assist me and he came fast and talked then said you have to go with the tow truck i'am out of here. bastard. thats not what i wanted to hear from my pal at this point at all. so i let him leave and then a min later the tow truck came and then took mytrep to the shop up 3 miles back the other way to a shop i had not herd of but the tow driver said was good. then he drove me home.
then.... the next morning i called the shop and to find out they wanted 489.00 just to take the radiator out of the car then more to farm it out to a shop to repair it that would be another 100+ then they said an aditional 489.00 to reinstall it. then i said some thing in a nutshell of hahah and no thanks ill come get the car.
then i called my pal again to take me up to this shop to collect my car. we did and he asked them the price and was like damn you were right they were asking way way to much. i was like i told you so. he had not believed me. the dork. then i got slapped with a 41.00 dollar diagnostic fee which i thought wa BS since i never had said yes to looking at the car. any way we filled the car up and then kinda raced to my house. then it was only at 1/2 way to hot and i made it home and parked it then we kinda argued on what to do my pal wantd me to use the alumaseal from autozone which on a ocassion helps. but since i have heard that dodges have a overheating problem i thought the best thing was to just go ahead and replace the Radaitor.. then i got a nice price on it 167 for brand new with a life time warrenty to cool beans. so out the door with 181.00 then on to autozone for some anti freez which was an aditional 12.00+ so then arfter 3 hours of playing mechanic it was done. whew what a weekend. and dang what a unexpected repair and cost.
