Well, to make a long story short, ever since I got my 93' Trep, the catalytic converter rattles during acceleration at about 1700 rpm and then again at 2900 rpm. So I've finally gotten enough materials to remove it and just straight pipe the exhaust to the muffler. Just wanted to know your guys' opinions. Also, someone had mentioned a while ago in a different post about exhaust components on this car, and he said that there's 3 parts, cat converter, muffler, and silencer. Well I looked under there and I only have the first 2, not a silencer. Anyway, anybody else ever done this and could give me some advice?

As far as I know, going catless, which is what I understand you are doing, is highly anti-emissions and anti-noise law abiding in most states, be sure to check with yours, though I doubt KY has one. I don't know what Pep Boys sells, but I know they are not insured to do exhaust work, or so they say.
