so recently I've replaced the coolant res. for the 2nd time since owning the intrepid... so far since I've replaced it there hasn't been any leaks... but since I replaced the coolant res. I noticed when I shut the car off, the fans blow (engine is off) and I hear a chugging sound.. kinda like someone chugging down a bottle of water... anyways as far as how much I hear the car make that chugging sound, I'd say I only heard it do that 3 times... the first time I heard that chugging sound was before I replace the coolant res. the first time I heard it chug like that I noticed coolant was leaking out of the box (slit crack on box) and since replacing the first with the new one.. it happened twice.. second time I heard it I popped the hood did a little trouble shoot observed the sound and look for any traces of leakage.. NO LEAK.. so I couldn't think of what to make of it.. now that I've heard it again for the 3rd time... I'm looking around for any problems and I don't see anything... BUT... I don't know if this is related to the problem.. but this morning I've notice starting the car up in cold weather it started fine, but under the hood I could hear noises toward the radiator/belts don't know how to describe the sounds I heard.

The cap generally comes with new reservoir - both OEM and aftermarket (Dorman) I believe.

Suggestion: Only get an OEM reservoir. Dorman makes all of the ones for aftermarket, and the quality is very questionable.
