Well, I'm scared shitless. I was flipping trough the Seafoam thread and decided to try it.
Well, I can feel noticable vibrations when I'm sitting in park with the car on idle. However, when I rev the engine at or above 2000RPM, the vibrating goes away.
Another thing that was happening, the check engine light went on, and would flash when I was revving the engine at 2k-3kRPM's. Once I let go of the gas pedal and the car went back to idling, the check engine light turns solid and stays there. I don't know what the error message could be, I'll have to check in two days (won'tbe in town tomorrow). The exhaust sounds different as well, you can hear it making a puffing sound.
When I was driving the car, I could notice the speedometer gauge acting a bit odd. Say I went up to 55mph, it'd shake around the 54-55-56 mark.
Well, I put it in trough the suction hose trough here (this is a pic from the seafoam thread):
Anyway... this is what I did:
- Let the engine run for about 5 minutes
- Slowly (maybe not slow enough) sucked in the Seafoam (half a can). My definition of slowly and how fast I sucked it in is: about half the can within 5 minutes. I'd stick the vacuum hose into the seafoam for about 1-2 seconds, release, then stick it in again every 10 seconds.
- Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes.
- Took the car for a drive, took it up to 70mph, and drove it around town for a bit.
So, the car is off, I let it idle another 10 minutes before I went outside to turn it off. Now I'm here, scared shitless, hoping I didn't **** up my Intrepid. I feel like a complete idiot, and even worse knowing I could lose it.
I'm going to try starting the car again in a few minutes, seeing if letting it settle did anything.
