im more then likely putting these on at the end of the month, maybe with the greenstuff pads.
Research those pads before you buy them. I haven't heard too many good things.

im sure warlord can reccomend something that bendix makes thats really the top of the line.
Why would you think that? :D

But yes I can make recommendations. But first I need to know what one is looking for in a brake pad. Long life? Great stopping power? No dust? Cheap?

:)

do they make them for the trep? and where can i get them, a napa? or does another chain carry them?
MKD591 is the part number.

You can get them online at http://www.partsamerica.com or you can get them at any of the following places...

Advance Auto
Discount Auto
Checker Auto
Schucks Auto
Kragen Auto

There are other places but I can't remember them right now. :)

well, when looking into pads i usually go for the most obsorbent ones, to help keep the mess down :p but seriously i just but the Canadian Tire / Auto Zone specials, what ever they give me at the counter is what i take, i have had different types of pads, never really noticed a difference in braking power, just lasted a little longer when i bought the better ones.

I use the cheap $20 for a front set ones from auto zone. They have a lifetime warranty for as long as i have the car. I just replaced them the other day. The old set had lasted 13 months. So i took the old ones in and they handed me new ones. Was easy and fast. They are thick brakes. Really metallic and with lots of little pores. They stop good and im a gas and brake kind of guy. But for $20 bucks and free ones for the rest of my cars life, I couldnt find a better deal.

To hell with what type of pads, what type of rotors will last a long time on these cars without warpage? My latest set is toast, causing all kinds of wobbling when the brakes are applied.
Is there a way to put bigger rotors on these cars? My car chews threw them quickly. Although, I had the pads that are carbon impregnated, and seemed to have caused the rotors to stand up a bit longer. It wasn't until I put the semi-metallics on there that the rotors began to go to hell.

Well, let me tell you my experience thus far with the front rotors.

The car came stock with the R/T rotors (of course) and ceramic/organic pads. Shortly before I had to replace them I started to notice a wobble at high speed braking. I than started to notice a wobble at moderate braking.

For my first brake change I went with UBP rotors (ES style) and used OE semi-met pads. There were only a couple of times where at high speed braking I noticed a wobble.

My current set-up is using Bendix rotors (R/T style) and Bendix TitaniuMetallic (semi-met) pads. I have yet to notice any wobble.

Shortly I will be going with some Bendix rotors (R/T style) and Bendix CT-3 (ceramic) pads. This will also be the first time I will have to replace the rear pads/rotors. I will also be changing out all four calipers.

i was at advanced auto the other day, and the guy said that their wearever rotors were just as good as the bendix. is this true?

they had the same warranty and are cheaper.

Well, if he was comparing them to the Bendix Global (Global is our mid-grade line) rotors, than he may be correct. However, if he was comparing them to the Bendix rotors, than I have to say he is wrong.

The Wearever is an Advance Auto brand. There are two grades, a Gold and a Silver. I know on pads that the Wearever pads are NOT as good as the premium pads (of any brand, Bendix or otherwise). I'd have to ask our hardparts engineer, but I'm sure it's the same way with the rotors.

This isn't the first time that I've heard of those places trying to sell the lesser parts over the premium parts. It doesn't make sense to me because the profit margin on the lesser parts aren't nearly as good as the premium parts.
