I havnt really SPED in the Es yet but, I have gotten her to about 105. That was in autostick at about 2000 RPMS in 4th. But I noticed it was going slowly up forth.. No top end ?
Do you know if anyone actually make a 4.84 gear, Don?DScruggs said:Here is a list of approximate RPM at 150 MPH for various gearsets
RPM - Ratio
4690 - 3.66
4985 - 3.89
6200 - 4.84
6330 - 4.94
6360 - 4.97
Was made. Isn't made any more. I have a set with a damaged chain.RJ said:Do you know if anyone actually make a 4.84 gear, Don?
Mine was still climbing to 6400. It was NEARLY flat at that point though.RJ said:I don't think any shorter gearing helps, as most dyno graphs show the 3.5's curve flats out after 5800 rpm or so.
You really oughta come up for a spin on the 407. :grinyes:buffalo r/t said:you guys taking your r/t's to 140+ are nuts
Well, untill we have a Nurburgring style public track here in North America, I don't know where else you can go 140.****** from chat said:Whats the point of going fast on street roads in your stock intrepid?

Maybe i dont understand because i wouldnt feel safe driving my car that fast, i mean it does have almost 190k (and still looks good thankyou) If i had a new C6 or something i would do it too...CDN R/T said:'Cause the girl in the passenger seat was getting damp @ 160, I figured 220 should make her squirm right into the back seat. I know we discourage high speeds on public (street roads), I do too. I would never do this with ANY traffic around. Not trying to justify it but you really need to see the section of Hwy we were on, 3 lanes, wide shoulders, fully fenced, very well lit, huge medians, autobahn quality surface and no traffic. We made a westbound pass scanning the eastbound lanes, took a loop back eastbound knowing there were no cars between us and our exit, opened 'er up.
Great fun, not something I feel the need to do often. I have most of my fun between zero and 100 although, 120-160 is a fun run too.

Honestly dude, I don't think I'd feel safe taking a 1g to those speeds either. There is absolutely NO vibration or ANYTHING to speak of @ 140MPH in the 2g R/T, it handles AMAZINGLY at those speeds. My turbo Laser doesn't feel so good once I pass 120MPH.****** from chat said:Maybe i dont understand because i wouldnt feel safe driving my car that fast, i mean it does have almost 190k (and still looks good thankyou) If i had a new C6 or something i would do it too...

I understand you can kill yourself at those speeds easily, but I don't suppose you drive the 400 series highways (the most major highways in Canada). At 3AM on a Monday morning, there isn't much traffic dude. I took my car up to 140+MPH, and it was still accelerating slowly, but once I saw traffic I let off.
I don't mind endangering myself as much as I mind endangering others who are just minding their own business, and have nothing to do with my speed contest. If someone was racing me, I'd think that I'd let off by 120MPH or so.
That's about how far up I was, too - center of left digit on the odo. I guessed upper 130's but 140 sounds good, too, with room to spare. And I agree with you about the handling, rock solid.CDN R/T said:I know... old thread, but
I had the opportunity over the holidays to find my speed-nanny. Reasonably flat road, no real wind to speak of, with the needle pointed squarely at the center of the last odometer digit, she cut out. Judging by the last number on the speedo (200km/h) the extra distance brings it to 225km/h or 140Mph. Handling was very flat (no float) and feedback was very 'polite', no real vibration or harshness though I could feel every pebble on the road. Bit of a 'pucker-factor' at that speed enhances the butt-dyno. She was still movin' up nicely and had loads of rpm left though I was about to let off anyway because my tires aren't rated for that kinda play.
My $.02, without the nanny, on flat ground with the right rubber & conditions, 150Mph no problem.
So, atleast in my case confirmed: '02 R/T limited to 140Mph
