what engine do you have?
3.5L, I believe the top speed for an unrestricted 3.3L is between 125mph and 130mph.

and how do you know if you have the touring package
Ask your dealer to run you VIN and see what your car options are.

Or just look at the VIN decoder in the "How-To" section of the website.

I don't think the suspension package (touring or performance) had anything to do with the top speed of the car. My car came with H-rated tires, which can sustain 130mph, yet my top speed is 140mph. I believe the performance package got the V rated tires.

Unless of course the employee's at the plant <cough> put the wrong ECU in my car (and if that's the case, I am thankful)

I have a european version 3.5L EagleVision.The fastest I drove with it was 120 (today ;-)

I think the governor kicks in at 120.....at least on mine....is there any way to remove it???Maybe with the scan tool???

Are you sure the limiter is at 120? My Euro controller let me do 240 KPH on my 97 Vision.
Don't go out and try it out now unless you're going on the Autbahn:biggrin:

don't worry, even though your car will go 8 mph faster than mine, it'd take you so long to catch up that i'd still be way ahead. maybe when we put those spacers and big TB on there with the 5 speed......

o, and as to why your speedo would turn off if you bypassed the limiter? cuz your turning off the VSS sensor which tell sthe computer how fast you are going. so you'd have to calcualte speed by the RPM's

My car's been up to 190 kilometers per hour.

I just haven't had a chance to go over, but I know it will :).

Also, haven't gone over because unless I'm driving to Toronto, there aren't really places that will accomodate a car moving that fast (straight stretches etc0 around here. At least not safely without endangering others.
